Vocal Ensembles
In order to promote young talents individually, we offer two vocal ensembles. For singers who sing in these two ensembles, we offer, rehearsals, rehearsal rooms, sheet music and concert organization free of charge. In addition to the live concerts, we would also like to produce videos in the future.
Vocal Ecstasy: A pop ensemble with 4-16 voices in different formations, where each voice is primarily a soloist. The repertoire ranges from Pentatonix to the Comedian Harmonists. It is assumed that the singers have previous musical experience and master singing techniques. The pieces are prepared in self-study so that joint rehearsals can focus on musical interpretation.
Regular a cappella concerts have been given with 4-16 voice arrangements of Queen, Pentatonix, Voces 8 and film music
Tesori Rinascimentali: A vocal ensemble of 8-16 voices singing Renaissance- sacred and secular polyphony. Singers should master the basics of singing technique and music theory, so that polyphonic singing can also be performed as a soloist and with a secure voice.
The ensemble has given several concerts of works by Claudio Monteverdi, Luca Marenzio, Clement Jannequin and other Renaissance composers.
Audition: Interested singers should send a 2-3 minute demo video with a song of their choice to t.thorsson@philharmonie.wien. The song can be sung a cappella, with playback or with accompaniment. Selected singers will be invited to an audition. The age limit for both groups is 40 years.
