Voice Club Beginners
Due to popular demand a new choral group for beginners will be offered in October. Meet cool people from different faculties and have fun singing together. The easier repertoire enables an easy (re-) introduction to the world of music. Lighter choral literature (pop and classical music) is sung and the focus lies on teaching singing techniques, sight reading and harmonic comprehension. No audition is needed for this group- just come and sing along! The age limit for this choir is 35 years.
In this choir you will participate in the following activities:
12 units of 90 mins: weekly choral rehearsals
2 units of 60 mins: small group vocal and breathing technique lessons
2 units of 60 mins: small group music theory and rhythm exercises
Participation at two gala concerts at the Main Hall of the Vienna University
Course fee € 90
This choir will sing two large Pop Concerts, “Abba and the 70s” in the grand ceremonial hall of the Vienna University in December.
All singers who wish to continue in the summer semester, will perform Carl Orff‘s “Carmina Burana” at the Main Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus on the in June 2023.
With this group we intend to introduce you to music or refresh your singing abilities. Therefore this chorus will be offered only in the winter term. In case you want to continue thereafter, you can audition one of the other groups in January 2021. From former experience we know that many singers have high musical abilities and prior experience but are reluctant to audition individually. This group offers a chance to sing without an audition for the first term, get to know the conductor personally and audition at a later stage.
Many new students, international exchange students and people new to Vienna come to the Voice Club Beginners and have few contacts outside of their own university department. To make it easier for you to join our community, we are organizing a welcome concert with a “Speed Friending” event in mid-October. After the concert there will be dancing and partying! It is very important for us to get to know you guys!
