This women’s chorus consists of enthusiastic, female singers aged 55 and above who have the motivation and enthusiasm to sing demanding choir works.
At a certain age the voice becomes deeper and especially in low ranges a warm, soft sound can be achieved, one which is hard to create with younger voices. Therefore this choir has a very special sound. The broad repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to operetta and folk music. A voice check is necessary but no sight reading test is required. All female singers above the age of 55 are welcome.
In the summer term of 2018 the choir will perform works by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger and Charles Camille Saint Säens on one hand and the “Stabat Mater” by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi on the other.
In the past year the Carmina Burana was performed at the Vienna Musikverein and the “Messe des Pecheurs de Villerville” from Gabriel Fauré was sung. In July 2017 a concert tour to Helsinki and St. Petersburg was undertaken.
Rehearsals: Wednesday 4.15 – 5.45 p.m.
