Symphonic Orchestra

The Philharmonic Orchestra generally plays works which demand high playing skills. With the Symphonic Orchestra we offer the opportunity to play an easier repertoire to help you (re-)enter the orchestral world. This orchestra is a little smaller and plays works from the Baroque, Viennese Classic and Early Romantic periods.

In December 2022, the symphonic orchestra will play Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite” and the Schicksalslied” by Johanns Brahms (concert programme). In May 2023, concerts will be performed with Anton Dvorak’s 9th symphony From the New World” and in June, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana will be performed in the Wiener Konzerthaus.

In the summer term 2022 the Symphony Orchestra played concerts with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Egmont Overture” and Georges Bizet’s Suite No. 1 and 2 from Carmen”. Earlier Franz Schubert’s Unfinished Symphonie” and Gabriel Faure’s Pavane” were performed.

For this orchestra all instruments are welcome! We are especially looking for trumpets, violas and violins.

Rehearsals: Wednesday 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
