Vienna University
Philharmonic

The Vienna University Philharmonic consists of two orchestras and nine choirs where more than 800 musicians and singers of different musical levels and age groups perform regularly. It is thus one of the largest musical communities worldwide. The repertoire ranges from classical music to pop, world music, musicals and jazz. The various ensembles cater to specific musical genres and the repertoire is selected according to the level and interest of the participants. Every year 40 – 50 concerts are held in Austria and abroad, reaching an audience of approximately 20.000.

Apart from music, a strong community as well as academic and professional networking are emphasized. Generations of sustainable friendships have been forged. Many international projects, especially important to the personal development of the younger generations, have been carried out in more than 30 countries.
