Symphonic Choir

This choir is for singers with some choral or instrumental experience who want to begin with easier choral repertoire. For this choir sight-reading skills are not required. The choir focuses on classical music, but pop and world music are also performed.

In the summer semester of 2026, concerts featuring a world music program with songs from Uruguay, India, and Turkey, as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem, will be performed in the Ceremony Hall of the University of Vienna. On December 12 and 13, two pop concerts featuring music of the 90s will be presented at the University Hall, and on December 17, 2026, and January 17, 2027, Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 3 will be performed at the Musikverein. As a project for the summer semester, film music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Matrix, and more will be performed at the Musikverein on June 17.

For optimal placement within the respective voice group, a voice check is necessary for this choir, but a sight-reading test is not required. All voice are being accepted, and the age limit is 40.
