Femmes Vocales
This choir consists of singers aged 50 and above who have the enthusiasm and commitment to sing demanding choral works. This is also the time when professional and family obligations are not so challenging and there is finally more time for oneself. The wide-ranging repertoire ranges from classical to musicals to folk songs.
In April the choir will sing a cappella pieces at the concert "The slavic tonal language" at the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein, as well as the concert "World Music" in June.
Past December the choir sang "Seven Part-Songs" by Gustav Holst.
Previous projects were choir pieces by Claude Debussy, “The Roaring 80s” with music by Queen and Jennifer Rush were sung.
Previous projects included songs from “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” by Gustav Mahler, parts of the musical “My Fair Lady”, the Mass in A major by Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, the “Stabat Mater” by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and the “Messe des Pecheurs de Villerville” by Gabriel Fauré. In April 2025, a concert tour was undertaken to Sichuan and Tibet.
You do not need to audition for this choir for the first semester. At the end of the first semester, there will be an evaluation, as musical and basic sight-reading skills are required. Singers who do not want to do this audition immediately can also sing in the Voice Club Beginners for a year and then switch to this choir.
We are particularly looking for altos in this choir, but all singers are welcome. The age structure of the choir is between 50 and 75 years and the highest entry age is 65.
