Voice Club

This is a choir for singers with previous musical experience. The choir sings three projects per academic year, two projects with a cappella pop, gospel, jazz, musicals and world music, and one project with classical music. Singers in this choir must have basic singing technique and music theory and be able to sight read. There is also the possibility to sing solo and discover the star in you!

In the coming academic year, concerts “The Roaring 80s” with music by Tina Turner, Wham, Elton John and more will be performed on December 7th and 14th. A medley from the musical “Lion King” and demanding pop a cappella arrangements with an African theme will be performed on June 13th, 14th and 15th, 2025.

Last December, the choir sang a cappella pop at the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein as part of the concert “A Swinging Christmas”. In May 2024, Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony was performed together with the other choirs in the Vienna Konzerthaus and in June 2024 a medley from the musical “Hair” was sung.

Past projects have included a medley from "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff, "Abba and the 70s" in the Great Festival Hall of the University of Vienna, as well as the concert "Concert des Continents" where the Voice Club sang African pop music. Concerts with the music of John Williams from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter have been given at the Vienna Musikverein and in the Arkadenhof of the University of Vienna.

An audition is required which includes a sight reading test and voice check and there is an upper age limit till 33 years.
